Agile Development: What BUGS You? What ANNOYS You?

Episode 65 - 07 Dec 1985

Christmas is coming, and this year I'm planning to take some time off. This is the last video of 2016.

But before I sign off, I'd like you to take a moment to channel your inner Bad Santa:

I want to know what bugs you. What annoys you. As long as it has something to do with Software Development, I want to hear it!

Thank you for helping me to improve Development That Pays!

Enjoy the festive season; I look forward to talking to you again in 2017.

We're fast approaching Christmas

Time for peace on Earth and goodwill to all men

But we're not quite there yet...

There's just time for some last-minute.

Hello I'm Gary Straughan

Welcome to Development That Pays.

We've only just tiptoed into December but here in London the build up to Christmas is very much ON.

Radio stations have stopped apologising before playing Mariah Carey

And My local branch of B&Q - a hardware store - has been transformed into a fairy grotto.

But this year, I've decided not to be the man who says "Bah humbug!"

This year, I decided to embrace the holiday season.

I'm planning to take a couple of weeks off.

While this this might be the last video of 2016

rest assured that work on Development That Pays will continue behind the scenes.

I'll be plotting and planning to improve it for 2017

And for that, I need your help

If you've been wondering what to get me for Christmas: wonder no longer.

All I want for Christmas is your answer to one simple question:

I'd like to to tell me

What really, really, really

Annoys you

What irritates you

What is that thing that can take you in a heartbeat from Elf to Bad Santa.

I want you to really go for it

To let it out

As long as it's got something to do with software development, I want to hear it.

Got something?

In or around this video you'll find a link to a super-simple Surveymonkey survey

When you get over there, you'll see that it consists of just two questions:

Question 1: "What do you do?"

And question 2: "What bugs you?"

Like I said, there a link to it around this video some place.

It'll take you seconds to complete

And in good Secret Santa transition, the survey is completely anonymous

So feel free to let rip.

Get it off your chest.

You'll feel better for it.

It'll set you up perfectly for the festive season.

Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, may I take this opportunity to wish you and yours all the very best.

I hope you too have the opportunity to take a break,

and I look forward to talking to you again in 2017.
